Scrapbook Your Life offers a wide variety of classes where you can learn new techniques and work with the latest products. Join Club 52 and each month take on a new adventure. There are many variables that go into making a good class, but the one thing that makes a difference is ? The Teacher! Of course the project itself should get lots of oooohs and aaaaahs and at least one big gasp since there's always something a great teacher will show the class that no one has seen in the past. Maybe it's a little shortcut that is taken for granted — a shortcut that we think everyone knows the "how to" but they have never seen it before! Or maybe it's a daring tip that will make all the difference in your project ? taking your skill level all the way to bright, scrapping pages and projects like you never have before! At SYL our teachers will make all the difference in the world no matter if you're a beginner or an advanced scrapbooker.
Also you can contact our teachers at teachers@scrapbookyourlife.com Please include the teachers name in the subject line. Choosing what works best! And if this happens to be your first class — please let the staff at SYL know; we'll be happy to show you all the different adhesives that are available to use.

Anita Carrasco ? Growing up, Anita always wanted to be a teacher. She envied the paper, pencils, chalk and endless school supplies. Anita tells us that's where it all started, her LOVE of paper and supplies! She's been teaching here since we opened in 2005 and found her niche in Club 52! Showing people new techniques and watching how they incorporate the ideas into their work is what she likes most. And what's her philosophy of scrapbooking? Well, her background is actually in mental health and counseling. She jokes that she spent years trying to help people get to a place in their life where they unravel their mistakes, work through them and move on. But in scrapbooking nothing is wrong and anything can be fixed! Here we learn how to cover up mistakes, make it look pretty, forget about it and keep on going! Anita has two great 2 kids and a husband who loves her crafty ways. The best part ? she's just like the rest of us - always striving to be more organized, she's an over extender, can't find her keys to save her life but don't worry she knows exactly where her bone folder is!.
Hee-Jin Peterson began teaching scrapbook classes, in 1999 in Thousand Oaks, Woodland Hills, and Simi Valley. Hee-Jin has been a classroom teacher for the past 10 years and scrapbooking came alive for her in the classroom with her students. Teaching is her passion in life as she teaches middle school by day, and art and craft classes for adults, graduate courses in education, and scrapbook classes by night and weekends. Hee-Jin insists that scrapbooking should never be a chore, and helps scrappers avoid the dreaded feeling of BEING BEHIND. She makes even the most difficult projects easy, and her books and layouts are FAST and FUN! Hee-Jin loves to help scrapbookers feel accomplished as they leave her class, like they have learned a new skill they can use over and over again. With a Master's Degree in education, Hee-Jin has learned that teaching is simply the art of sharing. Hee-Jin shares her love of scrapbooking with her husband, her new son, and all those who meet her.
Latisha Yoast, will just say she's thirty something >"< and loves to stamp and
scrapbook. Married to a Navy helicopter pilot she has two children, a 12 year old
daughter and a 7 year old son. Latisha started scrapbooking about 11 years ago
when she was invited to "one" of those shows and was immediately hooked. She
really loves a simple layout but can also appreciate the time and beauty of a
layout that has taken forever. She's not one who has taken the leap into digital
scrapbooking yet; She wants to touch & feel all the richness of the materials.
During her husbands first deployment a friend turned her on to stamping. She'll
tell you she was embarrassed to say she didn't even know what stamping was, yet
alone what to do. Fast forward a few years later to 2008 and stamping is now her
PASSION. Get her started and she'll go on and on about card stock, designer paper
and ribbon. And just like the rest of us she?s crazy about paper! Her favorite
thing - its always
fun to learn a new technique or trick to give a card that wow factor and I NEVER
want to stop learning! She's been teaching scrapbooking and stamping for about 6
years now and really enjoying making these two things not so scary and
intimidating. Creating a card or layout for her is a little slice of heaven. She
can't wait to show you the basics and a few of my favorite techniques. If you want
to know more about Latisha or see some of her work you can check out her blog.
